The Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyre is a premium summer tyre suited for ultra-high performance vehicles such as sports and super cars. Bi-Compund technology The components that make up this technology are two different rubbers used on the inside and outside of the tyre tread. The outside rubber consists of a high molecular chain elastomer that works to add excellent amounts of grip, especially on tight bends. The inside rubber is made of a more rigid elastomer that aids with steering control and wet handling. 20% deeper tread The tread pattern is 20% deeper than previous sport cup models. This deeper tread pattern has been added to help prevent aquaplaning and improve overall safety of the tyre by allowing the tread to be in constant contact with the road in wet weather conditions. Track longevity technology Track longevity technology works to make the tyre more durable. This technology works so that there is less wear on the outer shoulder of the tyre. The tyre shoulders have been reinforced with a special rubber compound.
