The
UK car tyre market is very profitable with vast margins
in the sale of car tyres to the end consumers. You would
be mistaken to think that car fleets and manufacturers
pay similar prices to us when we buy car tyres.
There are large re-bates
which are paid to distributers to push a certain tyre. It is not a conincidence
that car manafactures use a sigle brand for tyres. They do this because they
get them either at no cost or very cheaply. The reason for this is that as
consumers we tend to stick to the same brand of tyres that we already have
on the car. As such the tyre manufacturer will more than cover the costs of
the original tyres in the inflated proces we, as consumers get charged.
The good news is that
the internet is beginning to have an impact on these high prices but it does
take some planning. Internet car tyre providers can also be more convenient
as often they will come and fit your tyre(s) at your home or work.
